CDM Smith Video Production Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts
CDM Smith is seeking a video editor to work in partnership with internal stakeholders, communications and marketing teams, to create professionally finished videos for internal and external audiences. The video editor participates in concepts and storyboarding with the team, creates animations and motion graphics, and color corrects and edits raw video clips into finished videos based on the storyboard designs and stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities will include:
Edit raw video clips into finished videos based on storyboard designs and/or stakeholder needs. Creates basic motion graphics to incorporate into finished videos.
Performs color correction and post-production work on video files for various delivery channels. Stays current on best practices in encoding, compressing and optimizing for final delivery.
Performs audio file matching to video files, editing quality and levels as needed. Sources sound effects and music to combine and layer with recorded audio.
Under supervision, participates in video shoots, scouting locations, setting up scenes, lighting and audio. As needed, performs camera work and/or audio monitoring during filming.
Maintains archive of video and audio assets

0 to 4 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree in Film/Video/Animation or related field is required
Working knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Affects and Adobe CC, other video editing software.
Working knowledge of latest video hosting environments, codecs and multi-bit rate compression for exporting and optimizing video for final delivery.
Understands principles of motion graphics and graphic design.
Basic knowledge of HTML.
Ability to manage time across multiple projects in a highly-collaborative, fast-paced environment.
