CDM Smith Environmental Engineer 3 in Boston, Massachusetts
As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
Performing work associated with hazardous waste sites and solid waste landfills.
Work would include environmental site assessments, regulatory reporting, data validation, project coordination and scheduling.
Work would also involve field activities, such as soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater and indoor air sampling, landfill gas monitoring and reporting, excavation and drilling oversight, and construction monitoring and oversight.
Work tasks would include data evaluation, engineering studies, remediation technology feasibility studies, and report writing.
Tasks would also include supporting design of soil and groundwater remediation systems and landfill projects and supporting preparation of construction plans and specifications.
Out of town travel may be required between 25% and 50% of the time. Field work will be required and may be up to 75% of the time.

Engineer-In-Training, Professional Engineer
CDM Smith Employment Type:
3 - 5 years of experience since BS.
BS or MS in Environmental Engineering or related engineering field of study. -- Position requires either a PE or an EIT and only needing one or two years of experience to obtain PE licensure.
40 hour Hazwoper training and current 8 hour refresher training certifications.
Willingness to work at a variety of hazardous waste sites.
Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in written reports.
In addition to the minimum qualifications above, work experience within the hazardous waste site clean up profession with experience at a variety of sites and contaminant types is desired.
Experience with soil and groundwater sampling and analytical requirements, experience with the evaluation of hazardous waste site remediation technologies and with remediation system design and construction oversight is also desired.
Experience with the solid waste landfill closure process including closure design and landfill maintenance is preferred.
